Class 101 Franchisee Reviews
Owners share what they love about running a Class 101 franchise
We are lucky to have incredible franchise owners who are passionate about helping high school students get into the right college at the right price. Our partners are engaged and energetic professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds, from education to business. We do everything we can to ensure that our franchise owners are successful, because when they are successful, so are we. Here’s what our franchisees have to say about their partnership with us and the noble work they are doing in their communities.

Prior to my life with Class 101 I was a guidance counselor. I chose that field because I want to be able to help students, empower them, help figure out their pathway, what they eventually want to do with their lives (John). I’ve been a mom, I’ve been a substitute teacher, and then I was a coach. Being around kids of all those different ages made me realize that I want to do more with kids (Jackie). So I started exploring and lo and behold I found Class 101 and initially, honestly, I almost felt like it was too good to be true (John). My favorite part about class 101 is working with the students (Jackie). The relationship that you can build with them and you can build with the families; It’s truly one of a kind (John). Then we can also make suggestions and help them with the various portions of career choices and college choices (Jackie). The connections that we can build, it’s, I never expected it (John).

My only regret is that we didn't join class 101 sooner (Andrew). When you are really making an impact in the community, helping students, helping families, just seeing their smiles. I honestly wish I would have done this sooner (Roza). I think one of the most unique things about class 101 is even though we're growing we're still a family we're able to pick up the phone and talk to one another and to me that's very important (Andrew). I really think it is just so unique because you really feel at home and it just becomes part of your life; you're just embedded in the class 101 family (Roza). Now that I purchased a class 101 franchise I've now been able to work with a lot of high school students and truly make a difference in their lives, but also they made a difference in my life as well (Andrew).

A typical day at Class 101 is best described as not typical. In other words, we have so many different students, so many different situations that occur, no two days are the same and that's really what makes this job so interesting (Andrew). This is my first business venture as a franchise owner and I would have to say everything surprised me (Roza). I think one of the most unique things about Class 101 is even though we're growing we're still a family (Andrew). And that's what I love about the concept is that you're an independently owned and operated location, but then you also are part of a bigger team, bigger family, and you have the support from the corporate team, other franchise locations (Roza). They have all the systems and tools in place for us to be successful and as an owner that's all you really want (Andrew). You just get the best of both worlds even when you have challenges and setbacks so and of course successes everyone wants to celebrate them with you (Roza).

We were most attracted to Class 101 as a franchise opportunity because it's a unique position in the market right now. We know that the competitive nature of going to college is only increasing, and that parents are always looking for other coaching opportunities for their students. But to find a franchise opportunity that was already existing in the marketplace, we thought we hit on something really great with Class 101. [...] I'm really happy to say that the goals we've set, we've so far met and exceeded those. We hit our one year goal for enrollment at four months. [...] I think that is a testament to the fact that we knew we were hitting on a need in the market in our community.

I wanted to make sure I was doing work that was purposeful, professionally and personally. So, I started looking for franchises that dealt with education because I knew I was passionate about education and wanted to help students, and it was something that would be full-filling for me. That's when I found Class 101. This past September, my husband and I went to Lexington for our Discovery Day. Witnessing the interactions that were happening with students, I told my husband that this is it, this is what I want to do. We went to Lexington for our training and the process was very helpful.

There is a guideline for everything that we do. Our manual is detailed down to the month: It tells me what I need to be talking about to a senior in the month of December, for example. I’ve heard many people call a franchise a “business in a box.” Class 101 is more than a business in a box. You get people and support. If you don’t know how to do something, the support is there to help you find the answers. I love that I’ve helped students achieve their dreams and discover their path.

We knew Class 101 was right for us. We just felt like God had gift-wrapped it and put it on a silver platter for us. Class 101 gave us the tools that we lacked as individuals to help kids and to actually make money while doing it. I personally feel like the sky’s the limit as far as potential for franchisees.

The support the main office provides is great. The Class 101 management team can be as involved as you want them to be. The training is incredible, and they are continually making improvements. In my former career in insurance, if I had to stay at the office one minute after 5 p.m. I would be incredibly upset. As a Class 101 franchise owner, I love what I do. When my students call me before they call their parents when they get their college acceptance letters, then I know I’ve done my job.

Joining the Class 101 family has been one of my best decisions. Not only are we providing a much-needed service to our community, but we are also building strong relationships with our Class 101 students and families. The other Class 101 locations have welcomed us with open arms and been an invaluable resource while learning this new business. The corporate team continues to provide incredible support while being mindful of keeping Class 101 up to date and relevant in all things college planning. This new business has provided a new level of excitement, fulfillment, gratification, and pleasure that I didn't know was possible. I am thankful that the simple recommendation to call Class 101 for college planning for my daughter opened a door for an amazing opportunity for myself and my dear friend/business partner.
